Response of Nocturnal Insects to Household Light Bulbs of Different Wavelengths
A 15-month longitudinal field study conducted in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, investigating the positive phototaxis of nocturnal insects toward varying light wavelengths. Four household light sources (blue LED, cool white LED, old yellow filament, and red LED) were monitored across monsoon, post-monsoon, winter, and spring/summer seasons. Non-parametric statistical analyses (Friedman and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests) evaluate preference behaviors against meteorological variables like temperature and barometric pressure.
