Percepción de las personas adultas mayores en el respeto a su derecho de igualdad y no discriminación en el acceso a la justicia en el estado de Hidalgo

This research analyzes the implementation of the existing regulatory framework on equality and non-discrimination in the state of Hidalgo, as a real guarantee of access to justice for older adults. To this end, a survey was conducted with 50 older adults in the municipalities of Pachuca and Tizayuca, Hidalgo, covering sociodemographic dimensions, perception of treatment, equality, and proposals for improvement, systematizing the information through descriptive and content analysis. The findings indicate an institutional culture that heavily relies on stereotypes, paternalization, and infantilization of older adults, resulting in obstacles to the full exercise of access to justice. It is concluded that while in the state of Hidalgo possess a robust regulatory framework aimed at ensuring the protection of and access to justice for older adults at all times, normative efficacy remains symbolic in practice, as access to justice is hindered by a lack of enforcement within daily institutional operations.
