Luminescent and Scintillation Hybrid Materials in the LiF-Liq System and Film Based on Them
Hybrid materials (HM's) combine organic and inorganic components and can exhibit unique functional properties based on the synergy of their component properties.Luminescent organo-inorganic HMs in glass, polycrystalline, and film oxide and fluoride matrices have demonstrated high efficiency and stability [1-2].As shown in [3], the organic coordination phosphor lithium 8-hydroxyquinoline (Liq) is capable of exhibiting not only photo-, electroluminescence, and electron transport properties, but also pronounced scintillation properties.Synthesizing HM's in the LiF-Liq system appears promising for neutron detection.HM's were obtained by co-precipitation from aqueous-alcohol solutions and solid-phase synthesis using both Liq and 8-hydroxyquinoline (Hq) as starting reagents, which allowed us to obtain HM's with a reproducible luminescence spectrum (Fig. 1a).Films were obtained based on HM and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) that showed intense X-ray luminescence (Fig. 1b).
