The Hard Problem of Consciousness and Qualia in the Acta Universi Hypothesis

The Hard Problem of Consciousness and Qualia in the Acta Universi Hypothesis Abstract (EN) The hard problem of consciousness asks why physical processes are accompanied by subjective experience. This paper offers a reformulation of the problem within the Acta Universi (AU) hypothesis—a speculative informational-entropic ontology. In AU terms, qualia are identified with high-coherence, self-referential patterns of thought-forms in the theta-entropy field S_Θ. The framework distinguishes coherence C(integration) from self-reference R(the pattern’s model of itself) and embeds both in a cosmological archive. The paper compares this account with Integrated Information Theory, Global Workspace Theory, predictive processing, higher-order theories, and panpsychism. It does not claim to solve the hard problem; it relocates the explanatory gap and generates testable predictions concerning the correlation of experiential intensity with coherence measures, altered states, and depersonalization. Limitations and the need for operationalization are explicitly acknowledged. Keywords: hard problem of consciousness, qualia, Acta Universi, coherence, self-reference, theta-entropy, integrated information, neutral monism Аннотация (RU) Трудная проблема сознания ставит вопрос, почему физические процессы сопровождаются субъективным переживанием. Abstract
