Evaluation of the medical resource allocation and service capacity of clinical specialties in a maternal and child health care hospital

The allocation of medical resources is closely related to the service capacity of clinical specialties, yet there is a lack of corresponding indicators for analysis and evaluation. This study examines the current status of medical resource allocation and service capacity of clinical specialties in a maternal and child health hospital, so as to provide guidance for improving the efficiency of medical resource allocation and enhancing the service capacity of specialties. All seven clinical specialties were included in this study. The evaluation indicators of medical resource allocation and service capacity were scientifically defined. Statistical methods were used to calculate the levels of medical resource allocation efficiency and service capacity of each clinical specialty, and the relationship between medical resource allocation and service capacity was evaluated. Specialty B achieved the highest Ci on both the medical resource allocation ( Ci = 0.637) and specialty service capacity ( Ci = 0.569) dimensions. Specialty F showed the lowest resource allocation ( Ci = 0.129) and moderate service capacity ( Ci = 0.489). The most pronounced between resource allocation and service capacity was observed in Specialty E, which ranked 3rd in resource allocation ( Ci = 0.522) and 7th in service capacity ( Ci = 0.166), and in Specialty D, which ranked 5th in resource allocation (Ci = 0.335) and 2nd in service capacity ( Ci = 0.526). There are some disharmonious and unbalanced situations in the medical resource allocation and service capacity of clinical specialties in the maternal and child health care hospital. Comprehensive analysis is needed to strengthen the improvement of service capacity and guide the optimal allocation of medical resources.
