Empirical Validation of the Coupling Ontology: A 30-Year Longitudinal Study of a High-Density Social Network (System S) under Extreme Perturbations

Traditional system dynamics often treat entities as the fundamental unit of analysis. However, the "Coupling Ontology" posits that the essence of a complex system is a dynamic network of nodes, connections, and information flows. Based on a 30-year longitudinal observation (1995-2024) of a high-density human settlement network (designated as System S), this study maps its topological evolution across L1 (multi-dimensional data space), L2 (distributed self-organizing network), and L3 (cross-boundary resource ecosystem). Empirical evidence demonstrates that, without relying on centralized rigid control, the system sustained a high System Stability Index (SSI) during three extreme asymmetric perturbations by crossing the 10% percolation threshold and establishing ultra-short characteristic response times (Tc ≤ 24h). This study provides a crucial micro-empirical model for the non-linear phase transitions of complex adaptive systems.
