Psycho-Temporal Duress Sentinel: Hardware-Level DoD 5220.22-M Zeroization & Covert Coercion Interception for Critical Banking Nodes (S-PTDS v1.0)
In high-value sovereign Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) operations, central bank treasury vaults, and interbank clearing systems, authorized human operators constitute the definitive kinetic vulnerability. While post-quantum lattice primitives (FIPS 203 ML-KEM / FIPS 204 ML-DSA) and sub-0.04 microsecond L1 atomic state kernels insulate financial rails against algorithmic cryptanalysis and computational latency, physical coercion—specifically hostile kinetic kidnapping, extortion, and physical duress ("rubber-hose cryptanalysis") targeting authorized Tier-1 vault operators—bypasses all mathematical barriers. To eliminate this vulnerability without endangering human life, we introduce the Shaheen Psycho-Temporal Duress Sentinel (S-PTDS v1.0), an air-gapped, cyber-physical hardware architecture integrating continuous, non-conscious neuromotor biometrics with instantaneous physical zeroization and covert deception channels. S-PTDS monitors microsecond-resolution keyboard dwell-time variance, flight-time trajectories, and micro-tremor frequencies (8–12 Hz) mediated by acute sympathetic nervous system catecholamine surges. Formulated as an online streaming Kullback-Leibler divergence and Mahalanobis distance over high-dimensional keystroke dynamics, S-PTDS detects coercion with zero voluntary operator intervention (p < 10^-6 false alarm rate at 99.84% true positive duress interception within 3.4 keystrokes). Upon autonomous coercion verification, S-PTDS initiates a multi-stage Hardware Zeroization Sequence: it engages an FPGA-mediated physical bus isolation gate in under 12 nanoseconds, executes a hardware-enforced DoD 5220.22-M / NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 multi-pass cryptographic overwrite on volatile Battery-Backed SRAM (BBRAM) and registers, and triggers a sub-microsecond silicon-level thermal/capacitive crowbar discharge circuit (35V / 12.5A, < 250 ns) across physical master key memory lines. Crucially, to protect the operator from physical harm, S-PTDS transitions the visual terminal into an unalterable Synthetic Ghost Execution Mode: transaction processing interfaces display simulated settlement confirmations with synthetically generated cryptographic proofs, while out-of-band encrypted optical pulses dispatch military-grade telemetry and law enforcement interdiction vectors through sovereign defense backchannels. Bibliographic Continuity: This technical monograph forms Part 3 of the Shaheen Sovereign Financial Infrastructure Trilogy, expanding upon Paper 1 (Zenodo DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.23610592) and Paper 2 (Zenodo DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.23627063).
