Contractualization of Library Personnel: Balancing Institutional Knowledge and Professional Stability
With the changing landscape of libraries and the role of Library & Information Science (LIS) professionals, the employment landscape of LIS professionals has also been changing with contractual, temporary and other forms of employment. This paper discusses contractualization, professional stability, and analyses its implications for library and library users. Suggests the way forward on this matter. Concludes with the remarks that contractual employment cannot become a long-term substitute for regular professional staffing.
