Post-mastectomy Fungating Inframammary Lesion Managed with Individualized Homeopathy: An Extended Follow-up Case Report
Background Post-mastectomy inframammary lesions may represent benign post-surgical changes or locoregional recurrence. Management decisions in elderly patients are often influenced by comorbidities and treatment preferences. This report describes the clinical course of a patient managed with individualized homeopathy. Methods A 71-year-old woman with prior mucinous breast carcinoma presented with a fungating nodulo-ulcerative inframammary lesion and declined further invasive management. Individualized homeopathic treatment was prescribed based on symptom totality and repertorial analysis. Clinical progress was documented through serial examinations and photographic records over 3 months. Causal attribution was assessed using the Modified Naranjo Criteria for Homeopathy (MONARCH). Results Progressive clinical improvement was observed, including reduction in ulceration, cessation of bleeding, and re-epithelialization. By July 2025, the lesion had evolved into a stable nodulocicatricial plaque without discharge. No new suspicious findings were noted clinically or on imaging. The MONARCH score was 8, indicating a possible association between treatment and observed changes. No adverse events were reported. Conclusion This case demonstrates a temporal association between individualized homeopathic management and local clinical improvement in a patient declining further invasive care. Findings should be interpreted cautiously, and further systematic studies are warranted.
