Applicability of One Sample Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test in Comparisons with Reference Values in Animal Production
When conducting studies on animal production, data must be analyzed with appropriate statistical methods. In reserach, One Sample Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was used in comparisons made according to a certain reference value. Milk production data used for Türkiye and Bingöl province were obtained from TUİK. According to the 2004 sheep milk production amount reported for Bingöl province, the decrease in milk yield between 2005 and 2019 was found to be statistically significant. It was determined that the amount of goat milk production reported for Bingöl province in 2004 was statistically high compared to the data set starting from 2005 and continuing until 2019. The country's total sheep milk production between 2005 and 2019 was found to be statistically higher than the total production in 2004. According to the research results, it can be said that the amount of goat milk throughout the country between 2005 and 2019 tends to increase significantly compared to 15 years ago (2004). In the research, the efficiency of the one simple wilcoxon signed rank test, which is used to test whether the changes in other years create a statistical difference by taking a certain date as a reference, was tested. According to the research results, it was concluded that the one simple wilcoxon signed rank test, which is not used much in the literature, is a useful method in comparisons with reference values.
