National Infrastructure and TRE Services for SPE in Sweden
The National Academic Infrastructure for Supercomputing in Sweden (NAISS) is established with the aim to provide the unified computing infrastructure for Sweden to address the most pressing scientific & societal challenges. We are presently installing the EuroHPC system Arrhenius, as the biggest supercomputer for research in Swedish history. At the same time, preparations are made for an AI-optimized addition of similar size in terms of raw POPS, in the form of the dedicated supercomputer for the Swedish AI Innovation Factory Mimer. Both of these systems will offer GPU accelerated TRE capabilities for sensitive personal data on health, free of charge for excellent research and innovation projects. Simultaneously, NAISS is gearing up to provide partners with services for long term storage for sensitive data, as well as dedicated private compute, co-located with the supercomputer systems. Linköping University is host to NAISS, but also to the Analytical Imaging Diagnostics Arena (AIDA) for research and clinical AI innovation, and it's Data Hub which offers similar TRE capabilities based on user fees. These advanced and high-performance TRE capabilities are intended to be provided for suitable data users through HDAB-SE, through a national network of SPE providers suitable for a variety of scenarios.
