Visceral State Reconciliation in Unencumbered Virtual Reality: A causal multi-rate model of an interocular step, gastric spectral shift, and simulated mucosal perfusion
Headset-free virtual reality leaves interocular timing as a property of the rendered scene. This paper specifies a causal ordinary-differential-equation plant that couples an interocular delay, a vagal-tone variable, a gastric pacemaker frequency, and a mucosal perfusion variable, and it reports one deterministic integration of that plant. The run lasts 720 s. A unit conflict step occupies the half-open interval (420 s, 660 s]. Both branches receive the same noise sequence. Spectral detectors are read once per second on the uncontrolled branch. A 4096-point symmetric Hann transform crosses a tachygastric power fraction of 0.40 at 182.0 s after onset. A leading-edge Morlet bank centered on the newest sample crosses at 10.0 s, a 600-point half-Hann transform at 11.0 s, a co-gated index that uses a tachygastric fraction of 0.25 at 15.0 s, an interior Morlet bank at 18.0 s, and a 600-point symmetric Hann transform at 25.0 s. An autonomic index crosses 0.45 on the first one-second sample, when the vagal variable equals 0.361. On the controlled branch the held interocular delay lies between 2.747 ms and 2.838 ms, the gastric frequency lies between 0.0563 Hz and 0.0567 Hz against 0.0900 Hz without the controller, and the minimum of the simulated perfusion variable is 0.962 against 0.000. The longest one-second spectral update in this integration measured 1.372 ms. These quantities describe the plant and the detectors.
