Technical Note: Wedge-Assisted Hybrid Dynamic Evasion System (WAHDES) for Next-Generation Autonomous and High-Performance Vehicles
While recent advancements in high-performance electric vehicles explore active thruster systems for emergency "short-hop" maneuvers, pure vertical lift mechanisms suffer from severe energy inefficiencies due to direct opposition to gravitational forces ($E = mgh$). This technical note proposes the Wedge-Assisted Hybrid Dynamic Evasion System (WAHDES), a novel hybrid framework that combines mechanically deployed wedge ramps with simultaneous directed micro-propulsion. By converting linear horizontal momentum into an optimized ballistic trajectory, WAHDES drastically reduces energy consumption, minimizes peak structural stress on the chassis, and ensures stable attitude control during emergency collision avoidance.
