An Estimation Method for the Saturation Model of Magnetizing Inductance Under Load Conditions in Sensorless Induction Motor Drives
This paper proposes a method for estimating magnetizing inductance and a practical identification technique for the saturation model of magnetizing inductance in sensorless induction motor drives. Accurate estimation of the magnetizing inductance is essential for enhancing the sensorless performance of induction motors, as this parameter varies due to magnetic flux saturation, which must be accounted for. The proposed technique analyzes the variations in the indirect vector control caused by flux saturation, enabling the estimation of magnetizing inductance under different load conditions. The proposed method focuses on the saturation model that can be estimated experimentally, unlike conventional finite element analysis (FEA)-based methods. A real-time identification method for the magnetizing inductance saturation model on an MCU is also proposed to utilize the estimated magnetizing inductance in control. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through experiments.
