Integrated Mobile Platform for Geodetic Fieldwork: Architecture, GNSS Positioning, and Data Management
This paper presents “Do Punktu”, an offline-first Android application designed to support geodetic fieldwork involving the localization, documentation, and management of geodetic control and project points. The system integrates a local SQLite database, digital maps, mobile-device Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning, coordinate transformations, height data, photographic documentation, point navigation, stakeout support, data exchange, Portable Document Format (PDF) reporting, and project backup. The application was implemented in Kotlin using Jetpack Compose UI 1.9.2 and Material 3 1.3.0 and supports World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS84) and the Polish national projected coordinate systems PL-1992 (EPSG:2180) and PL-2000 (EPSG:2176–2179).The project produced an inventory database containing 539 point records. The application was subsequently evaluated through functional testing involving 16 testers and preliminary field testing involving 11 surveyors. Exploratory observations indicated approximate distances of 4–5 m from the target point in open terrain and approximately 10 m in forested areas. These values are reported as preliminary observations rather than as a formal accuracy assessment. The results confirm the feasibility of integrating mobile sensing, geodetic data management, and field documentation in one local application. Further studies should include controlled experiments, external GNSS receivers, quantitative usability assessment, and statistical evaluation of positioning accuracy and point-finding efficiency.
