Novel Bio-Based Binders from Polylysine and Activated Sugar
This presentation introduces the SUSBOARD project’s development of innovative 100% bio-based binders for wood-based panels, using polylysine and activated sugars as sustainable alternatives to fossil-based adhesive components. It highlights the scientific rationale, key research results, particleboard performance validation, and the Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) approach supporting the transition towards circular and environmentally friendly furniture and construction materials.
