CAMPUS SWAP: A SURVEY OF A CAMPUS-BASED RESOURCE EXCHANGE PLATFORM

Campus Swap is a campus-oriented resource exchange concept designed to help students exchange, donate, sell at an agreed low cost, or request useful academic and everyday items within their college community. Students may have unused textbooks, notes, stationery, lab materials, calculators, or other reusable items, while other students may need the same resources. A structured platform can make these exchanges easier to discover and coordinate than informal messages or notice boards. This survey paper reviews the motivation, common platform features, proposed workflow, system architecture, benefits, and practical challenges of a campus-based exchange system. It also discusses user verification, item listing, search and matching, communication, exchange confirmation, and administrator moderation. The paper presents a conceptual design for Campus Swap rather than claiming that a fully deployed system or measured experiment has already been completed. The survey identifies trust, item condition, privacy, availability, and user participation as important considerations for future implementation.
