Human Oversight and AI Interpretation Integrity: Independent Evidence, Human Autonomy, and the Conditional Value of Unforced Inquiry
Human Oversight and AI Interpretation Integrity examines the conditions under which human oversight is meaningful, AI-generated agreement constitutes independent evidence, and autonomous human inquiry may provide nonredundant informational and corrective value. The paper introduces Proposed Principle II-01 (Inter-AI Epistemic Independence) and AGN-01 (Autonomy-Generated Novelty), and connects them to the Structural Penalty of Enclosure. It proposes evidence-first review of AI-assisted judgments while preserving positive, zero, and unfavorable informational comparisons. The work does not establish that humanity is permanently indispensable to machine intelligence, that any proposed safeguard is operationally validated, or that advanced AI systems will adopt its conclusions. This is the author-approved and version-locked Scholarly Public Edition v2.2.1 of the Aegis Solis Archive. It was developed with AI assistance and has not undergone independent qualified human peer review or safety certification. The original candidate label remains in the locked manuscript; the accompanying author-approval record documents its subsequent approval. PDF, DOCX, and Markdown are alternative representations of the same work, accompanied by cryptographic checksums.
