A PERFORMANCE-BASED EVALUATION OF AUTHENTICATION, ACCESS CONTROL, AND DATA SECURITY IN MULTI-TENANT CLOUD STORAGE SYSTEMS

Cloud computing is essential for digital data storage, management, and sharing. This is because cloud computing is scalable, adaptable, and affordable. Multiple users or organizations can share a cloud infrastructure while preserving their own data and access controls with multi-tenant cloud storage. This is achievable with cloud storage. However, this architecture may lead to unwanted access, data leakage, inadequate access control, and tenant isolation breaches. If authentication and file-sharing methods are insecure, sensitive data may be exposed to unauthorized users. This research aims to design and construct a secure multi-tenant cloud storage and file-sharing architecture that prioritizes tenant isolation, user identity, authorization, data confidentiality, and integrity verification. To do this, this study will be conducted. The proposed system protects user accounts and data via JSON Web Token (JWT)-based authentication, role-based access control (RBAC), secure password hashing, and AES-256-GCM encryption. Cryptographic hashes verify file integrity. But permission-based sharing ensures that only authorized users can access files. A framework was created to logically separate tenants to prevent unwanted access to renters' files. This prevented unauthorized data access. Experimental testing will evaluate the proposed system under various user workloads and file sizes. Performance indicators will include unlawful access denial speed, access control efficiency, upload and download times, storage overhead, and authentication response time. All these things will be considered. A baseline implementation will be compared to demonstrate the performance and security benefits of the suggested technique. This will decide if the suggested method is beneficial. A practical and scalable framework is expected. This framework will improve data safety and secure communication in multi-tenant cloud systems while retaining system efficiency. However, the research may lead to reliable cloud storage options for enterprises, organizations, and educational institutions that need safe information management and sharing.
