On the transformational processes of cooperation within the framework of the BRICS
The article examines the specifics of interaction within the framework of the BRICS interstate association in the context of the transformation of the architecture of international economic relations. Based on the analysis of statistical data from the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation for the period 2022-2025, the dynamics and structure of Russia's foreign trade turnover with the BRICS member states are revealed. Special attention is paid to key areas of cooperation: the de-dollarization of mutual settlements, the formation of alternative payment mechanisms (BRICS Bridge), the development of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), as well as the activities of the New Development Bank. The idea of the increasing role of this format of relations in the creation of a multipolar model of the world order is consistently substantiated. The problems hindering the deepening of integration are analyzed, including the heterogeneity of economic systems, the protectionist policies of individual participants, logistical constraints and the institutional weakness of the association. The analysis showed that the concept of the organization is in the process of transformation. With the expansion of the BRICS, new issues arise that require regulation, both at the intergovernmental level and at the level of the association itself. The necessity of defining and coordinating the strategic goals of the BRICS member countries is shown. Promising mechanisms for further cooperation are being identified, not only within the format, but also with third countries.
