Delayed and Recurrent Spectral Activity at the Position of an Unidentified JWST Emission-Line Source: A Testable Hypothesis with an Exploratory Apeiron Interpretation

This hypothesis paper proposes that future observations at the reported position of the unidentified 1.60-micrometre JWST emission-line source described by Huberty et al. (2026) will reveal renewed or additional spectroscopic activity, potentially at other wavelengths and with measurable temporal delays. This is a speculative forecast by the author, not a mathematical prediction derived from Apeiron Physics. The source's identification and temporal behaviour remain unresolved; the discovery paper already discusses variable astrophysical sources, external illumination and follow-up spectroscopy. We distinguish that prior work from the present, time-bounded observational commitment. The broad conjecture was formulated privately on 18 October 2026. Version 2.0 adds explicit, newly specified testing rules for future observations between public release and 18 October 2031, including a fixed confirmatory wavelength interval, flux-change requirements, source association, multiplicity control and criteria for negative or inconclusive outcomes. Persistent emission or the discovery of a previously undetectable but constant line does not count as recurrence. Conventional astrophysical explanations take priority. Apeiron is retained only as an exploratory interpretation: an unidentified source or a successful temporal forecast would not by itself establish Apeiron, and no quantitative Apeiron mechanism is supplied here. Original private conjecture and version-2.0 specification: 18 October 2026. The public repository timestamp establishes the release; no earlier public priority is claimed. Includes a fixed observational protocol through 18 October 2031, source audit and reproducible source package. No new observational data or quantitative Apeiron interaction model.
