The PSE Research Programme: Biological Individuality — Supplementary Material (Monograph No. 3)

This publication contains the Supplementary Material accompanying The PSE Research Programme: Biological Individuality — The Principle of Systematic Exclusion as a Relational Theory of Biological Individuality (Monograph No. 3, Version 1.1). The main monograph is available at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23450868. The Supplementary Material provides additional documentation and analytical resources organized into six sections: S0 — Reading Guide: Introduces the structure of the monograph and suggests reading routes for different audiences. S1 — Comparative Matrix of Organizational Dimensions: Compares living cells, biofilms, holobionts, and eusocial insect colonies across six analytical dimensions of biological individuality. S2 — Conceptual Dependency and Programme Position: Clarifies the relationship between the foundational PSE concepts, the biological framework developed in Monograph No. 3, and the wider research programme. S3 — Annotated Core Bibliography: Discusses selected scientific and philosophical literature relevant to biological individuality, evolutionary individuality, symbiosis, and organizational persistence. S4 — Extended Abstract: Provides a detailed synopsis of the monograph’s theoretical framework, comparative analysis, conclusions, and limitations. S5 — Figure Supplement: Reproduces the conceptual figure from the main monograph, together with guidance for its interpretation. These materials support the evaluation and further development of the proposed PSE framework. They are published separately to facilitate consultation, citation, and independent updating.
