A COMPARATIVE STATISTICAL ASSESSMENT OF REAL ECONOMIC GROWTH ACROSS UZBEKISTAN'S REGIONS, 2010–2025
This study examines differences in real gross regional product (GRP) growth across Uzbekistan's 14 territorial units over the period 2010–2025. Using a balanced panel dataset comprising 224 region-year observations, the analysis compares compound annual growth rates, within-region growth volatility and annual cross-regional dispersion. The statistical assessment employs geometric growth factors and descriptive population standard deviations to evaluate regional growth patterns and their variability. The findings indicate that Bukhara ranks seventh among the 14 territorial units, with a geometric mean annual growth rate of 6.94% and a population standard deviation of 2.79 percentage points. The study distinguishes between the dispersion of regional growth rates and convergence in regional income levels, thereby providing a more precise interpretation of differences in economic performance across territories. The findings are descriptive in nature and do not establish causal relationships. The analysis is based on official regional statistical data compiled through Uzbekistan's Statistical Integrated Analytical and Information System (SIAT). The results provide an empirical basis for understanding regional economic growth patterns and identifying opportunities for further comparative research.
