PEMETAAN KOMPETENSI MEMBACA AL-QUR’AN DAN PROGRAM PENGUATANNYA BAGI MAHASISWA PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM UIN SALATIGA
This study aims to analyze the Qur’an reading proficiency of students in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program at UIN Salatiga and to identify the programs implemented to strengthen this competency. The study employed a descriptive approach, with data collected through tests, documentation, and interviews. The primary data were obtained from the results of a diagnostic Qur’an reading test and test-result documents of students in the PAI Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training (FTIK), UIN Salatiga, in 2025, complemented by data obtained through interviews. The results show that the Qur’an reading proficiency of students in the PAI Study Program at UIN Salatiga in 2025 was categorized as good. This is indicated by a diagnostic test passing rate of 94%, with 134 out of 142 students passing the test and an average score of 81.97 among the students who passed. Although the overall level of proficiency was categorized as good, efforts to strengthen Qur’an reading competency continue to be implemented through several programs integrated into students’ educational experiences. These programs include strengthening Juz 30 memorization, the Qur’an Reading Matriculation (Matrikulasi Membaca Al-Qur’an/MMQ), murajaah at the beginning of lectures, and Intensive Tartil Qur’an Guidance (Bimbingan Intensif Tartil Al-Qur’an/BITA). These programs serve as institutional strategies to maintain and further strengthen the Qur’an reading proficiency of PAI students. This study highlights the importance of mapping students’ abilities through diagnostic testing, followed by systematic and sustainable development programs.
