Bahasa Persuasif dalam Narasi Motivasi TikTok @thesadewa dan Potensinya untuk Pembelajaran Teks Persuasi SMP: Persuasive Language in Motivational Narratives on TikTok @thesadewa and Its Potential for Persuasive Text Learning in Junior High School

This study aims to describe persuasive language strategies in motivational narratives on TikTok videos from the @thesadewa account and their potential use in persuasive text learning at the junior high school level. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a qualitative content analysis design. The data consisted of utterances from 20 motivational videos selected purposively based on content relevance, audio clarity, and message completeness. Data were collected through documentation and note-taking, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which involves data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal three interrelated persuasive strategies: directive, emotive/evaluative, and argumentative. Directive strategies encourage or guide audience actions, emotive/evaluative strategies shape emotional responses and evaluations, while argumentative strategies strengthen messages through reasons, consequences, comparisons, personal experiences, and causal relationships. These strategies may occur simultaneously within a single utterance. The findings suggest that the videos have potential as contextual learning resources through activities involving the identification of persuasive strategies, analysis of the relationship between recommendations and supporting reasons, and production of written persuasive texts. However, the effectiveness of using these videos in classroom learning has not been empirically tested.
