Coordinated operation of Mobile substations and multiple Mobile flexible resources in coupled power distribution and transportation networks
To address spatiotemporal load imbalance, temporary capacity shortages, and the limited scheduling potential of grid-side flexibility resources in distribution systems, a coordinated operation method for multi-type mobile flexible resources (MFRs), including mobile substations (MSSs), mobile energy storage systems (MESSs), and mobile diesel generators (MDGs), is proposed in coupled power distribution and transportation networks. First, a coordinated scheduling framework integrating the discrete migration behavior of MFRs with distribution network operation is established. Then, a discrete migration model is developed in the spatial dimension by considering travel and parking states, transportation network accessibility, and the coupling between docking operations and capacity expansion. In the temporal dimension, an installation–disassembly sequential state transition model for MSSs is proposed to characterize the operating states of mobile resources over long-term scheduling horizons. Based on the proposed framework and models, the complementary response characteristics of MSSs, MESSs, and MDGs are coordinated under mobility and network operating constraints. Finally, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method alleviates spatiotemporal load imbalance and local capacity shortages, improves voltage profiles and system resilience, and provides additional support for PV accommodation under capacity-constrained conditions.
