The Central Expansion and Peripheral Contraction Theory: The Cosmic Neutral Axis Hypothesis

This paper proposes the Central Expansion and Peripheral Contraction Theory, a conceptual hypothesis that interprets cosmic expansion through an analogy with structural systems in civil engineering. The model considers the possibility of two simultaneous, opposing behaviors: expansion in a central region and contraction in peripheral regions. It further explores whether the concept of structural tension could serve as an interpretive analogy for phenomena commonly associated with dark energy. The paper discusses observations of vanished stars reported by the Vanishing and Appearing Sources during a Century of Observations (VASCO) project as a potential area for further investigation. It also introduces the Cosmic Neutral Axis Hypothesis, which proposes that the Solar System may occupy a region of equilibrium within the suggested model. These propositions are conceptual and require mathematical formulation, observational tests, and comparison with established cosmological models before they can be considered scientifically supported. This work is presented to invite critical evaluation and further research.
