Penerapan Metode Design Thinking Dalam Perancangan UI/UX Aplikasi E-Adopt Untuk Adopsi Hewan Terlantar

The number of pets, particularly cats, in Indonesia continues to rise, placing the country among those with the highest domestic cat populations in the world. This growth has contributed to the overpopulation of stray animals, while animal shelters such as the Surabaya Stray Cat Rescue Community (KPKTS) face limited resources, promotion, and donations to accommodate and care for abandoned animals. This study aims to design the UI/UX of a mobile-based application, E-Adopt, as a means of adoption and donation to support shelter operations in Surabaya and its surrounding areas. A qualitative research method was applied using the Design Thinking approach, supported by primary data (interviews, observation, and questionnaires) and secondary data (literature review). The results present a design concept built on the keywords "Education, Interactive Design, and Wellbeing," a green color palette (pear, sea, and mint green), Nunito and Satoshi typography, a flat minimalist design style, and interface prototypes for two user roles, adopters and shelters, covering adoption, donation, sterilization/vaccination, rescue, educational forums, and consultation features. The design is expected to help reduce stray animal overpopulation, simplify the adoption process, and improve shelter operational efficiency.
