Periimplant soft tissue thickening flap (PSTF). Surgical-prosthetic technique to optimize the implant-prosthetic interface.
The periimplant soft tissue thickening flap (PSTF) is a minimally invasive surgical-prosthetic technique aimed at displacing the periimplant tissue to avoid its compression at the time of restoration insertion, promoting soft tissue thickening by means of connective tissue neoformation. The crown's emergence profile design plays a key role in the long-term success of this technique as it conditions the soft tissue position and form. This article explains the procedures involved in this simple and minimally invasive surgical-prosthetic technique.
