SUPERVISI KEPALA MADRASAH ALIYAH NEGERI 2 PAMEKASAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS PEMBELAJARAN

This study aims to describe the supervision conducted by the *madrasah* principal to enhance the quality of instruction at MAN 2 Pamekasan, covering planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. A descriptive-qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach was employed. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and document analysis, involving the principal, the deputy principal for curriculum affairs, and teachers as data sources. Data analysis involved data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that supervision planning is carried out systematically and collaboratively—encompassing needs analysis, focus determination, team formation, instrument and schedule development, dissemination, and teacher preparation. Implementation involves classroom visits, instructional observation, individual consultations, group discussions, and *lesson study*, utilizing a democratic and collaborative approach. Evaluation is conducted through instrument analysis, verifying the alignment of instructional materials with classroom practices, and assessing student engagement and competency attainment. Follow-up actions include providing feedback, guidance, mentoring, workshops, and teacher professional development. The principal's supervision serves not merely as a monitoring function but also as a means of professional guidance to support the continuous improvement of instructional quality.
