Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Phytagoras Berbasis Kearifan Lokal Melalui Komik Palindo Di SMP Negeri 1 Pamona Utara
This study aimed to develop a mathematics learning medium in the form of the Palindo Comic based on local wisdom that is valid, practical, and effective for teaching the Pythagorean Theorem to eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Pamona Utara. The main problem underlying this research was students' difficulty in visualizing the abstract concepts of the Pythagorean Theorem and the lack of connection between the learning material and students' real-life experiences. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model, consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research subjects were 30 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pamona Utara. Data were collected through observations, interviews, validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and learning achievement tests (pre-test and post-test).The results showed that the Palindo Comic was categorized as “Highly Feasible” based on expert validation scores from material experts (88%), media experts (81.81%), and language experts (86.66%). The learning medium was also classified as “Highly Practical,” with a student response percentage of 89.91%, indicating that the use of the Pamona dialect facilitated students’ understanding of the Pythagorean Theorem concepts. The effectiveness test using the Paired Sample T-Test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), with the average score increasing from 54.33 in the pre-test to 76.33 in the post-test. These findings demonstrate that the integration of ethnomathematics through the Palindo Statue icon significantly improved students’ learning outcomes and learning motivation. Therefore, the Palindo Comic is suitable for use as a contextual and communicative mathematics learning medium.
