SafeRoute: A Crime-Density-Aware Framework for Safe Route Recommendation in Urban Navigation
SafeRoute is a safety-oriented route recommendation system designed to incorporate historical crime information into urban navigation. The project explores how crime-related spatial data can be integrated into route analysis to help users compare alternative routes based on estimated historical crime exposure. The research describes the system architecture, data-processing methodology, spatial analysis techniques, and route recommendation approach used in the implementation. It discusses the potential of integrating historical crime information into navigation systems and examines the limitations associated with data coverage, temporal variation, and the interpretation of crime statistics.SafeRoute is intended to support informed route selection. Its recommendations should not be interpreted as guarantees of personal safety or predictions of future criminal activity. This record makes the research paper available for academic reference and citation.
