A consistent estimator for multi-character surveys
In this paper, a new consistent estimator for estimating population totals in multi-character survey sampling has been suggested when certain variables have poor positive correlation with the auxiliary variable used at the selection stage. It is also pointed out that all the existing multicharacter surveys estimators are inconsistent. An empirical study has been carried out to study the behavior of the proposed estimators under the different strategies suggested. Also, the performance of the proposed estimator has been supported with real data applications.
