Mapping Black Life Beyond The Archive Workshop

ABSTRACT This hands-on self-paced workshop introduces AACAT-1870 (African American Community Archives Theory) as a framework for mapping Black life beyond traditional archives. Participants will develop a StoryMap concept by layering cultural memory, movement, archival records, and absence, using counter-mapping to address gaps and silences in digital storytelling and archival representation.
