Schizophrenia: A neurodevelopmental disorder that affects millions of people's lives.
Schizophrenia is a chronic neurodevelopmental disorder that alters how an individual visualizes the world, thinks, behaves and feels. People with schizophrenia experience symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking, and disorganized behavior (Cleveland Clinic, 2022). This paper reviews the clinical symptomatology, severe danger and risks along with the outcome and effects of anosognosia on schizophrenic patients, analyzes effective clinical treatments, triggers that may affect schizophrenia, and examines research data regarding the disproportionately high suicide rates found in many schizophrenic patients.
