A GLOBAL CALL TO CONSCIENCE: EMBRACING THE DIRECT PARTICIPATORY POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC SYSTEMS AS THE CIVILISATIONAL PATHWAY TO WORLD PEACE, HUMAN DIGNITY, AND UNIVERSAL PROSPERITY

ABSTRACT The structural exhaustion of representative governance and its market-dominated economic manifestations has accelerated geopolitical fragmentation, socio-economic inequality, and systemic institutional alienation. This paper presents a comprehensive civilisational alternative through the formal articulation of the Direct Participatory Political System and its complementary Direct Participatory Economic System. Synthesising institutional direct decision-making with a balanced economic framework, this model restores absolute, inalienable sovereignty to the citizenry. By replacing representative intermediaries with direct democratic mechanisms—specifically the referendum, the plebiscite, the public forum, popular consultation, and popular election by lot [By lot (Sortition)]—and pairing them with transparent public administration, mandatory semi-annual accountability, Universal Basic Income (UBI), and robust fiscal oversight, the Direct Participatory Model guarantees human dignity, social equity, and absolute administrative transparency. This manuscript serves as an urgent call to global academic and civic conscience to embrace Direct Participation as the indispensable paradigm for permanent global peace and human flourishing.
