SELECTION OF PROMISING GRAPE VARIETIES AND ASSESSMENT OF THEIR ADAPTABILITY TO SOIL-CLIMATIC CONDITIONS
The article discusses the criteria for selecting promising grape varieties and methods for assessing their adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Viticulture is one of the important branches of agriculture in Uzbekistan, and in the context of global climate change, the correct selection of varieties and assessment of their adaptability are of particular importance. Agrobiological characteristics, yield, disease resistance, drought and salinity tolerance of local and introduced varieties are analyzed. The importance of soil mechanical composition, groundwater depth, salinity level, and climatic factors in variety selection is substantiated. Based on research results, the suitability and prospects of varieties such as Husayni, Black Kishmish, Nimrang, Pink Tayfi, Rizamat, and Kattaqo‘rg‘on for different regions are determined. The article thoroughly examines key selection criteria such as yield, product quality, and resistance to biotic and abiotic factors. Furthermore, agrobiological evaluation methods based on M.V. Melkonyan's methodology are analyzed. In conclusion, varieties selected based on a comprehensive assessment ensure stable yields and contribute to the development of the viticulture sector.
