Metacognitive Dynamics and Immersion: From Virtual Learning to Real-World Transfer
The overall research question asks to what extent the dynamics of self-regulated learning and the immersive experience predict the transfer of aprocedural skill from virtual reality to the physical world. The study tests an integrative model encompassing multiple hypotheses (H1 to H9),postulating that initial states (intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy) influence the immersive experience (sense of presence, cognitive load), whichsubsequently impacts metacognitive regulation processes (judgments of learning and understanding), ultimately predicting immediate retention inVR and behavioral skill transfer to the real world.
