Effect of Music on Gene Expression and Epigenetic Regulation: An Integrated Study Using Bioinformatics, Forensic Psychology and Musicology
Music is an important part of human life. It can affect our emotions, memory, thinking, stress, and behaviour. Scientists are also interested in understanding whether these effects can influence biological processes inside the body. Music does not normally change the actual DNA sequence. However, it may influence how some genes work or how strongly they are expressed. This area can be studied using molecular biology and bioinformatics. Bioinformatics helps scientists analyse large amounts of biological information such as DNA, RNA, and gene-expression data. Forensic psychology helps us understand how people respond to music emotionally and mentally. Musicology helps us understand the characteristics of music, such as rhythm, melody, harmony, tempo, and structure. By combining these three areas, researchers can study how different types of music may influence psychological, physiological, and molecular responses.
