Design of a finite-time adaptive estimator for dynamic-dependent switched systems with matched faults and mismatched uncertainties

This paper deals with the design of a finite-time adaptive estimator of mode-dependent switching dynamics subjected to matched faults and mismatched uncertainties. Under this setting, a multi-stability condition can be used as a means to formulate a dwell-time condition dependent on dynamics and ensure finite-time stability. The dwell-time condition improves the transition management through the addition of extra variables. A multi-stability condition and an adaptive fault estimation law provide conditions for stability under matched faults and mismatched uncertainties in the form of a linear matrix inequality condition. Solving this linear matrix inequality condition results in obtaining the gains of the estimator. This estimator reduces conservatism in the problem and improves the transient response of shaded face image estimation error. Moreover, this estimator performs efficient fault estimation while dealing with negative effects of uncertainties, making it suitable for practical fault-tolerant systems. Numerical simulations eventually verify the effectiveness of the estimator and prove its superiority over other estimators.
