Evaluasi Saluran Drainase Pada Area Perumahan Valencia Kabupaten Sidoarjo

Valencia Housing, with an area of approximately 30.5 hectares, has a drainage system that is not yet functioning optimally. During heavy rainfall, flooding occurs with water depths ranging from 10 to 13 cm and recession times between 30 minutes and 2 hours, disrupting community activities and causing infrastructure damage. This study aims to evaluate the condition of the existing drainage channels, calculate the design flood discharge, analyze the performance of the receiving channel, and provide recommendations for improvement through channel dimension adjustments. The research methods include hydrological analysis, covering regional rainfall, rainfall frequency, distribution suitability, catchment area and runoff coefficient, time of concentration, rainfall intensity, wastewater discharge, and design discharge. Furthermore, hydraulic analysis was conducted, encompassing wetted cross-sectional area, wetted perimeter, flow velocity, and existing discharge. The results indicate that the receiving channel has sufficient capacity to accommodate runoff from the residential area. However, the existing drainage channels within the housing complex are unable to fully accommodate the design discharge, thus requiring dimension adjustments. This evaluation is expected to serve as a technical basis for developers and local government to sustainably improve residential drainage systems.
