The relationship between spiritual orientation and post-traumatic stress symptoms and menopausal symptoms in climacteric women living in a post-earthquake container city

In this study, we aimed to examine the relationships among spiritual orientation, post-traumatic stress symptoms, and menopausal symptoms in climacteric women living in a post-earthquake container city. This analytical cross-sectional study, using a descriptive and correlational approach, included 240 women. A weak negative correlation was found between spiritual orientation and the depression subscale of the Traumatic Stress Symptoms Scale, whereas a moderate positive correlation was found between traumatic stress symptoms and menopausal symptoms and their subscales (p < 0.001). Higher spiritual orientation was associated with lower depression scores, while greater traumatic stress symptoms were associated with more severe menopausal symptoms.
