SEOM-GGCC clinical guidelines for the prophylaxis of infectious diseases in patients with cancer (UPDATE 2026)
Infections are still a major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with cancer. Some of these infections are preventable through specific measures, such as vaccination or prophylaxis. This guideline (updated in 2026) aims to summarize the current evidence and recommendations for the prevention of infections in patients with cancer, devoting special attention to the most prevalent preventable infectious diseases. All of the evidence is graded according to The Infectious Diseases Society of America grading system.
