Riociguat versus Selexipag in Treatment-naïve CTEPH: an Exploratory Randomised Trial
Extract Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is characterised by organised thrombi in the pulmonary arteries and secondary distal pulmonary vasculopathy [1, 2]. Multimodal treatment has improved prognosis [1, 2]; pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) is recommended for surgically accessible CTEPH, whereas balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) is indicated for distal disease or persistent/recurrent pulmonary hypertension (PH) after PEA [1–4]. Pharmacological therapy is also a key component of multimodal treatment [1, 2, 5–9].
