Pemanfaatan Kulit Buah Naga Merah (Hylocereus costaricensis) dan Kulit Pisang Kepok (Musa paradisiaca L) menjadi Bioetanol
This study aims to utilize red dragon fruit peel waste (Hylocereus costaricensis) and kepok banana peel waste (Musa paradisiaca L.) as raw materials for bioethanol production. The production process includes raw material preparation, hydrolysis using 2N sulfuric acid, fermentation with yeast mass variations of 1% and 3%, and distillation for bioethanol purification. The results showed that yeast mass addition affected the volume and yield of bioethanol but did not significantly influence the ethanol concentration. The highest ethanol concentration obtained was 14.6% with 3% yeast. This research demonstrates the potential of red dragon fruit peel and kepok banana peel waste as renewable energy sources that can be further developed.
