PERBANDINGAN STRUKTUR DAN MUATAN KURIKULUM SD, SDIT, MI, DAN MTS: KAJIAN PUSTAKA PADA JENJANG PENDIDIKAN DASAR
This study aims to examine and compare the curriculum structures and content across four types of educational institutions: Public Elementary Schools (SD), Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools (SDIT), Islamic Elementary Schools (MI), and Islamic Junior High Schools (MTs). The study is motivated by the distinct educational objectives, subject matter, instructional time allocations, and unique characteristics associated with each institution. A literature review method was employed, gathering information from relevant books, scholarly journal articles, and official government documents. Data were analyzed using a descriptive-comparative technique to elucidate curriculum similarities and differences regarding subject structures, content, time allocation, and institutional characteristics. The findings indicate that SDs emphasize the development of foundational skills and general knowledge; SDITs integrate the national curriculum with a strong emphasis on Islamic values; and MIs combine general subjects with specialized Islamic religious instruction. Meanwhile, MTs provide lower secondary education featuring a blend of general and religious subjects tailored to the developmental stage of the students. These curricular variations are shaped by educational goals, government policies, institutional identities, and student needs. This study is expected to enhance understanding of the curriculum characteristics across various educational institutions in Indonesia.
