BIOLOGICAL ASSET MEASUREMENT AND SEGMENT-BASED REVENUE REPORTING IN AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES

This article proposes a methodological framework that integrates biological asset measurement, revenue recognition from sales, and segment reporting in accordance with IAS 41, IFRS 15, and IFRS 8. The framework is developed through a comparative analysis of relevant accounting requirements and an examination of the information disclosed in the financial statements of two agricultural enterprises. Based on this analysis, the study introduces the BD-1 reconciliation schedule, which distinguishes amounts determined under national accounting standards, documented accounting adjustments, and corresponding amounts calculated in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The principal research contribution is a structured procedure for allocating the effects of biological asset measurement to reporting segments while preventing their double recognition as sales revenue. The economic benefits of implementing the proposed framework have not been assessed.
