FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KECEMASAN PADA PASIEN KATETERISASI JANTUNG DI RUMAH SAKIT MEURAXA KOTA BANDA ACEH

Cardiac catheterization is an invasive procedure that often causes anxiety due to patients concern about the procedure, pain, and the risk of complications.. The World Health Organization recorded more than 7 million deaths from coronary heart disease in 2022, and Aceh is among the provinces with a coronary heart disease prevalence above the national rate. Unmanaged anxiety may affect patients' psychological readiness and the success of the catheterization procedure. This study aimed to identify the factors associated with anxiety among cardiac catheterization patients at Meuraxa Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh City. A quantitative correlational study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted. The sample consisted of 68 respondents selected through total sampling. Data on age, knowledge, negative perception, family support, economic status, and anxiety level were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate chi-square tests. The results showed a total of 41 respondents (60.3%) experienced anxiety. Chi-square results showed significant associations between knowledge (p=0.002), negative perception (p=0.001), and family support (p=0.002) with anxiety, while age (p=0.617) and economic status (p=0.119) showed no significant association. The conclusion was knowledge, negative perception, and family support were significantly associated with anxiety among cardiac catheterization patients, indicating that pre-procedural education and strengthening of family support deserve attention from health care providers.
