DIGITALIZATION AND LEARNING: A LONGITUDINAL STUDY ON HR PROFESSIONALS INFORMING THE KYER FRAMEWORK
Abstract Purpose: Today's dynamic workplace requires learning to adapt to digitalized workplaces. Understanding employees' learning behaviors helps them grow and improves organizational success. Methodology: HR professionals' learning practices are assessed using a screening questionnaire. Over two years, a longitudinal study interviewed outliers from the initial pool of 117 respondents to determine if they lacked learning practices. The outliers include HR professionals with varying titles, experience levels, and enterprises. An open-ended questionnaire identifies HR professionals' learning practices, including company affiliation, designations, required job skills, superior designations, and their skills; learning preferences; perceptions towards learning; awareness of their learning practices; and frequency of learning engagements. Findings: This study examines how digitalized workplaces without learning behaviors affect individuals and organizations. It examines workplace learning demand, age demographics, health conditions, family duties, and more to offer solutions. This article gives insights into HR professionals' learning behaviors and a "Know Your Employee for Retention" framework for managers to handle unpredictable employee behavior. Originality: The New framework is designed with the interpretation and findings of a longitudinal study in mind and concerning existing literature.
