The Nonhuman Turn through Multispecies Communities
One of the challenges for understanding the dialectics of the human and the nonhuman in the nonhuman turn are the multispecies communities and installations that artists organise in experimental forms and scientists are interested in collaborating with them. The human and nonhuman actors discussed in this article can be involved in such art projects in dry run modalities, challenging both cultural studies and political theory to rethink the nonhuman turn and develop new concepts about it. The basic argument in this article is that in the present, defined by the Anthropocene, not only as an environmental but also as a cultural and political paradigm, the nonhuman is growing in importance, interacting with the human in multispecies communities and establishing a dialectics between the decentralised human and recentralised nonhuman.
